Spring 2010 Kanas City Zombie Walk

I will be at this event shooting photos before, during, and after the walk. Stop by and say hi! I'll be happy to immortalize your zombification with a photograph or 10. I'll be posting them here once I get home and get them offloaded. Stay tuned!

A little history and info on the event by Jamie King:

The Kansas City Zombie Walk for Hunger is a grass roots charity founded in May of 2008. June 4th will be the 4th semi-annual walk here in Kansas City where the zombie horde is growing bigger and stronger each year.

Please join us on June 4th, 2010 in the Cross Roads Art District in the East Alley of The Pitch parking lot. We please arrive early and check in with your food donation, we will start walking at 8 PM. All food must be checked in by 7:45 PM. Suggested time of arrival is 7 PM.

The charity of choice this spring is:

Central Avenue Center of Hope
11 N 15th Street
Kansas city, KS 66102
913.233.2511

Here is a list of items they take.
Any canned foods (meat and beans are always a plus)
Any dry boxed food that is not perishable
All kinds of toiletries (men/women). Razors, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, feminine hygiene products, etc , basically any sort of toiletry.

While this is an adult only walk, children are allowed at your own risk. We are NOT liable for anything that may offend both children and adults. If you find someone’s costume offensive please keep your thoughts to yourself. This walk is not about you it’s about feeding the hungry.

We will have a blood station of sorts set up somewhere, please make sure you are kind to the surrounding area and keep blood off of pavement as much as zombie like possible. We want to stay in good standing with The Pitch, they are very gracious for letting us use their area.

A general route will be posted when you arrive. We will be walking for at least an hour and the route is not set in stone. If the leader decides to veer off, the remainder will follow.
I will be posting the rules as well, please remember to respect the rules. There will be spotters throughout the walk looking for people breaking the rules. If you are caught breaking these rules you will be asked to leave the walk immediately.
